The KIM Annual Business Awards(KABA):Polucon Services recently added to its medals list the inaugural KIM Annual Business Awards (KABA). The event, organised by the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) will seek to identify and recognise SMEs that have practical and results oriented management styles.

In addition to being named the SME of the year, Mombasa based Polucon Services Ltd. won the procurement and logistics and human resources management awards.

The KIM Annual Business Awards (KABA) will be a departure from the Company of the Year Awards that has been pitting large companies with small enterprises and in turn seen fewer SMEs coming on board. Nomination for the awards was open to all sectors of the economy, but mostly attracted companies from the services sector, that made up 90 per cent of all the entrants.

The KBS Kenya Quality Award(KQA):
Kenya Quality Award (KQA) is Kenya’s most prestigious quality recognition award conferred on manufacturing and service organizations that demonstrate the highest standards of business excellence and gives special commendation to those considered to be the best in quality in Kenya.

Polucon draws a lot of pride in being recognized as a champion as this is a clear demonstrating to all our clients of our unwavering commitment to quality service. A fair judge was able to confirm what we have always told our customers.

The Africa Small Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMME)Award:
The Africa SMME Awards are organized by Africa Centre for Investment analysis (ACIA) at University of Stellenbosch Business School in Cape Town, South Africa every year.

The Awards are aimed at stimulating interest in the role played by SMMEs in the African economy.

SMMEs in Africa are known to operate through very harsh environments. For them to survive and succeed in such circumstances, they must be innovative, creative and must demonstrate very high ethical standards in their business practice. The extent to which a firm has applied these attributes is used in determining the winners of the awards.

Polucon had to demonstrate all these qualities to compete and excel in the stiff competition presented to it during the occasion. Finally we emerged runners up in the Environment and Renewable energy sector.
